News: 7/1/2008: Core Medical Training – August 2008 Entry

Applications for August 2008 entry to Core Medical Training in East Midlands Deanery (South) opened today on NHS Jobs.

We are advertising to appoint at least 30 trainees at CT1 level in Core Medical Training for 2 year training rotations

We do not currently propose any appointments at CT2 level, nor as FTSTA’s

Link to the NHS Jobs listing

Please note that application will involve completion of the standard NHS Jobs application form and of a supplementary form devised by the Specialty School of Medicine which asks for details of clinical experience and reasons for application to our programmes

Applications which do not provide both forms completed will not be considered for interview

Please note that if you wish to exclude any previous posts from the maximum clinical experience stated in the national person specification (<= 12 months at SHO/ST1 level) then you will need to justify this exclusion in detail on the application forms (whether in the UK or overseas, and whether or not formally ‘educationally approved’), otherwise you may be considered ineligible for appointment on the basis of person specification

                             Closing date 16th January

  • This will include posts in Kettering, Northampton and Leicester (click link to see details)

  • Link to the NHS Jobs listing for these posts
  • Please note that we expect that application will again involve completion of the standard NHS Jobs application form and of a supplementary form devised by the Specialty School of Medicine which asks for details of clinical experience and reasons for application to our programmes
  • Applications which do not provide both forms completed will not be considered for interview
  • Application and interview process is an East Midlands Deanery-wide process – but candidate preferences for North or South rotations will be used to decide location of interview.                              We began to make offers in the week commencing 30th March 2009 but in common with many other deaneries around the country a large number of posts are currently ‘held’ rather than accepted. Guidelines for accepting or holding offers are detailed on the national recruitment website

Our individual posts and rotations are allocated by ranking based on your overall assessment score in application and interview.
