List of News and Updates on LNRMed site
Who is my supervisor and who is coordinating my
training … ?
Dr Jonathan Barratt is
Training Programme Director for Core Medical Training in the School
Every Core Medical Training
and ACCS trainee (run-through ST1/ST2, core CT1/CT2 and FTSTA) will be
allocated an educational supervisor – we currently plan that this supervisor
will be the same person for at least 1 year of training (and probably for the
whole 2 years for CT1/ST1 trainees)
RCP College Tutors are
responsible for coordinating the allocation of educational supervisors on each
hospital site
The tutors are:
The RCP Tutor arranged an
induction meeting on each site within the first few days of your post, and is
the person who should be able to confirm/allocate the name of your educational
supervisor
Where I know them, the name
of your educational supervisor in each post is also already recorded within
your e-Portfolio
It is the trainee’s
responsibility to meet with their educational supervisor as soon as possible
for initial appraisal and agreement of PDP

Specialty
Trainees at ST3+ should all now have access to the ePortfolio. If you do not
have an account please contact the School’s coordinator.

ePortfolio
minimum standards for ST3+ trainees
·
ST3+ trainees
appointed after August 2007 should have had an ARCP for each year of training
(or have one planned in the near future). They should therefore have an “ARCP
Outcome Form” (see Gold Guide Appendix 5). If you have not had an ARCP or not
received a copy of this form (which is equivalent to, but different from, the
old RITA form) then please discuss with your TPD and inform the School’s
Coordinator
Specialist
Registrar Training
· Specialist Registrars continue to train under the old curriculum and using the old JCHMT/JRCPTB paper log-books.
· SpR’s however are part of the School – and I am happy to consider giving access to the ePortfolio if any trainees would prefer this as a method to collect workplace assessments and undertake MSF.
“ACCS – Acute Medicine”
trainees need to maintain a JRCPTB e-Portfolio and document the same
competencies as Core Medical Trainees.
However, ACCS trainees in
Anaesthesia and Emergency Medicine also need to document their competencies on
their Acute Medicine attachments, whilst using their own Colleges’
documentation for the educational portfolio.
The following documents
explain our approach to this in East Midlands South:
There is a lot more
information on ACCS available on the ACCS
UK Website
These FAQ’s were prepared in
2007 and 2008 – but many remain relevant to 2009 and 2010 entry.
These are left here for
reference and will be updated from time to time as appropriate
